Life Essential Body (Tissue) Salts
Don’t forget to take your Salts!
Whilst we are very aware about the importance of vitamins for optimal health, few know about the functions of Body Salts, also called Body Tissues, on our wellbeing.
Of all the theories, advanced in the history of medicine, none have been so simple, rational and appealing to the scientific mind as that of the treatment of human ills by means of inorganic cell salts which are normally present in the human body.
The use of these cell salts is by no means new in medicine as they have been known and used for centuries, but the recognition of their true worth as medicines and their functions in the tissues and organs of the body is comparatively a recent origin.
Much emphasis was laid on the necessity for lime salts as builders of bony tissues by a gentleman called Dr von Grauvogl in his textbook on medicines.
But the full development of the idea of disturbances of function and health; by reasons of mineral salt disturbances and their correction restoration of the proper balance of these cells, did not take place until some years later when Dr William Heinrich Schuessler of Oldenburg – Germany began the publication of a series of papers explaining his conception of the place which should be given to these salts and their therapeutic applications.
Who is Dr William Heinrich Schuessler?
Dr Schuessler was a doctor of medicine, a Physiological Chemist and Physicist, who was well ahead of his time. He developed the Schuessler tissue salts at the end of the 19th century and gave us a unique system of Cellular Therapy, Biochemistry (the chemistry of living tissues) which continues to be popular today.
Dr Schuessler found that there are 12 inorganic minerals present in the body which he called Tissue Salts. These 12 vital minerals are required on a daily basis to support cell metabolism
Why are Tissue Salts so important to our health?
They provide the cells with the essential nutrients that they lack, a proper mineral balance that is necessary for normal self-function. When the blood lacks the necessary nutrients, the body becomes prone to illness; tissue salts improve the absorption of nutrients ingested and encourage overall good health and wellbeing.
Each salt addresses different body functions. Often you have a combination of two or three different salts, depending on the ailment.
Tissue salts are safe and they can be given to infants, small children, adults, pets and pregnant women.
They don’t interfere with any other medication. Most of the time they are used in tablet form but they also come in sprays which may be easier to use for some other people, and they are readily available in many health food shops, even some supermarkets or anywhere, where people are concerned about health products.
They are manufactured in Australia and distributed through Martin & Pleasance based in Melbourne.
What are these 12 Body (Tissue) Salts?
1. Calcarea Fluor (Fluoride of Lime)
For haemorrhoids & muscular soreness, varicose veins, cracked skin, injured ligaments
2. Calcarea Phos (Phosphate of Lime)
For healthy bones & teeth, lowered vitality, indigestion & digestions, chilblains
3. Calcarea Sulph (Sulphate of Lime)
For skin ailments, pimples & slow healing wounds, glandular swellings or ulcers
4. Ferrum Phos (Phosphate of Iron)
For inflammations, fevers, throat & muscular soreness
5. Kali Mur (Chloride of Potash)
For congestion, coughs, colds or respiratory problems
6. Kali Phos (Phosphate of Potash)
For nervous tension, irritability, tantrums, exhaustion, impatience, or feeling run down, tension headaches
7. Kali Sulph (Sulphate of Potash)
For skin ailments, brittle nails & poor hair condition
8. Magnesia Phos. (Phosphate of Magnesia)
For spasmodic pains, cramps & flatulence, menstrual & muscular spasms, pounding headaches
9. Natrum Mur (Chloride of Soda)
10. Natrum Phos (Phosphate of Soda)
For acidity, stomach upsets or heartburn or mild rheumatic or gouty tendencies
11. Natrium Sulph (Sulphate of Soda)
Sodium Sulphate helps balance the amount of water in the tissue, eliminating excessive fluids if necessary
12. Silicea (Silica)
Silica is known as the cleanser. This salt is beneficial for ripening the abscesses and promoting a discharge, maintaining strong and healthy hair and nails and any skin eruptions.
The challenge is to find a practitioner who is well versed in recognising the symptoms and treating with these body tissues. In most cases there is more than one mineral salt lacking, requiring two or three salts to be combined in treatment.
